Grants for the Agri-Food Industry: End-to-End Management

It depends on the region. Andalusia offers between 40% (medium-sized company) and 65% (small company) of eligible spending, with a ceiling of €3M per company over the 2023–2027 period. The Valencia region covers up to 50% for SMEs, with a limit of €1.5M per call. Catalonia funds investments from €40,000 up to €5M of eligible spending. FEADER calls (Intervention 68422 of the PEPAC plan) are annual, and each region sets its own rates and deadlines.

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funds primary farm holdings directly: farmers, livestock producers and cooperatives engaged in primary production. Grants for the agri-food industry (PERTE, FEADER Intervention 68422, CDTI) fund the processing and marketing of products: companies that process, package, distribute or innovate in the final product. Tecnocim specialises in the second type — support for processing companies that add value to the raw material.

As a rule, the R&D&I deduction base has to be reduced by the amount of the grant received for the same costs. However, if the project includes work that goes beyond what PERTE funds (research staff costs left out of the grant, for example), that part can still qualify for the deduction of 25–42% (R&D) or 12% (technological innovation). Planning both together from the outset maximises the total return. Tecnocim manages the grant and the deduction as a single exercise.

Yes, through several routes. Kit Digital provides between €3,000 and €29,000 for SME digitalisation (ERP, traceability, e-commerce). The SME investment line of PERTE Agroalimentario II funds MES systems, industrial IoT, collaborative robotics and supply chain management platforms. CDTI runs specific missions on agri-food digitalisation and biotechnology. On top of that, only 24.3% of the sector is making progress on digitalisation (MAPA/Cajamar observatory, March 2026), which means companies that digitalise now will compete with an edge in a sector that is still lagging.

Yes. ICEX Next provides up to €24,000 per SME for international growth costs (trade fairs, overseas marketing, opening new markets). Spain is the fourth-largest agri-food exporter in the EU and the largest in fruit, vegetables, olive oil and pork, with a record €51,092M in exports in 2024. Agri-food companies account for 14% of ICEX Next beneficiaries. International quality certifications (IFS, BRC, ISO 22000) are also fundable under several FEADER calls, and are a condition of supplying large European retailers.
