Frequently asked questions about FUNDAE-funded AI training
Funded training (also called programmed training) is a scheme run by FUNDAE that lets companies train their staff and recover the cost through reductions in their Spanish Social Security contributions. Every company has an annual credit derived from the vocational training element of its contributions.
The credit depends on the size of your workforce: companies with 1 to 9 employees can recover 100% (with a minimum of €420); 10 to 49, 75%; 50 to 249, 60%; and companies with more than 250 employees, 50% of what they paid towards vocational training the previous year.
Any artificial intelligence course aimed at improving professional skills is eligible: ChatGPT for productivity, AI agents, professional prompt writing, AI applied to marketing, HR, finance or business management. The training has to be relevant to the company's activity.
All employees registered under the Régimen General of Spanish Social Security. Self-employed people without staff (RETA) and civil servants are excluded, but self-employed people with staff can fund training for their employees. The company has to be up to date with its Spanish Social Security payments.
Tecnocim handles the whole process: we register the training activity on the FUNDAE platform at least 2 calendar days in advance, manage the attendance and assessment paperwork, and apply the reduction to the contribution filings (TC1) of the following months.
Yes. Companies with 1 to 49 employees can carry unused credit forward by telling FUNDAE before June. Companies with 50 or more employees lose any unused credit at the end of the financial year. That is why it pays to plan training early in the year.
The AI courses eligible for funding include: ChatGPT and prompt writing for teams (8–16h), Microsoft Copilot for productivity (8h), process automation with AI (16h), data analysis with generative AI (12h) and AI agents for customer service (12h). All are available online or on site, come with a certificate and are 100% eligible for FUNDAE funding.
Introductory AI courses (ChatGPT, Copilot) last between 8 and 16 hours. Advanced programmes on automation and on building AI into business processes run from 20 to 40 hours. All of them fit around the working day and can be taken in an intensive format (2–3 days) or spread out (2h a week over several weeks).
Yes. Every funded AI course issues a certificate of completion that is valid for the company's training records. There is no official AI certification issued by FUNDAE, but the certificates evidence the training hours and the content covered. Tecnocim also offers certifications from technology suppliers such as Microsoft (Copilot) and Google (Gemini).
