How we design your strategic plan
Situation assessment
We analyse your company with the Business Model Canvas (BMC), SWOT and CAME analysis, a PESTEL study of the environment and Porter's five forces. We identify your real strengths and the priority areas to improve.
Defining the strategy
We define vision, mission and values. We set strategic objectives over 3–5 years and design a sustainable business model. We identify the change levers with the greatest impact.
Action and investment plan
We write the full plan with prioritised initiatives, a timeline, a balanced scorecard (KPIs) and a financial plan. We map the public grants and tax deductions that fit.
Support and follow-up
We hold regular reviews, measure progress against the KPIs agreed and adjust the initiatives as the market moves. Your strategic plan is a living document.
Funding your strategic plan
Your company can fund the strategy consulting in full or in part with public grants. We identify the ones that fit your project.

Frequently asked questions about strategic planning
A complete strategic plan includes an assessment of the current situation (SWOT and PESTEL analysis and the Business Model Canvas), the definition of vision, mission and 3–5 year objectives, an action plan with prioritised initiatives and named owners, a balanced scorecard with measurable KPIs, and a financial plan that tests whether the growth is viable. At Tecnocim Innova we add one further element: we identify which projects in the plan qualify for public grants or R&D&I tax deductions.
An initial strategic review takes 2–4 weeks. The full design process, including workshops with the management team, market analysis and writing the final document, runs between 6 and 12 weeks. Support during implementation can extend from 3 to 12 months depending on the scope of the plan.
The business plan describes how the company works today: revenue model, cost structure and target market. The strategic plan defines where the company wants to go over the next 3–5 years and what specific actions it will take to get there. It covers the competitive analysis, the growth objectives with their KPIs, the priority initiatives and the projected financial plan.
Strategic objectives are set through a structured process: first the current situation is analysed (SWOT, PESTEL, Porter), then the 3–5 year vision is agreed, and finally it is broken down into specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART) objectives. Each objective is tied to concrete KPIs and to a named owner inside the organisation.
The strategic plan should be formally reviewed at least once a year, to assess progress against the KPIs agreed and to adjust the initiatives as the market moves. Quarterly operational reviews are also advisable. The full plan is reworked every 3–5 years, or whenever there is a significant change in the competitive environment of the company.
Yes. In Catalonia, the Cupons ACCIÓ d'Estratègia fund up to €8,000 non-repayable for SMEs that want to redefine their competitive strategy. Tecnocim identifies every grant that fits your project before the work starts.
